AAP Punjab leader and cabinet minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh highlighted the success of the Punjab government’s anti-drug campaign 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' and shared the details of police action up to March 16 with the media.
On Tuesday, Minister Tarunpreet Sondh addressed a press conference related to this campaign in Moga. The minister stated that the results of the 'War Against Drugs' campaign are extremely encouraging, and positive outcomes are being seen everywhere.
He mentioned that this campaign is being conducted very successfully across Punjab. So far, 95 kg of heroin, more than 52 kg of opium, and over ₹64 lakh in cash have been recovered. Additionally, 1651 FIRs have been registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), and 2575 drug traffickers have been arrested.
Apart from this, approximately 7.25 lakh intoxicating pills, 1128 kg poppy husk, 17 kg cannabis, 4.5 kg charas, 1.25 kg of ice, about 500 bottles of illicit liquor, 6.25 kg of intoxicating powder, and 279 injections have also been seized by the police. Numerous buildings linked to drug traffickers have been demolished.
