A major security lapse was reported at the Delhi Assembly on Monday after a white car bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number broke through the barricade at the gate and entered the premises.

According to officials, a masked individual stepped out of the vehicle, placed a bouquet inside the Assembly complex, and then left the spot. The incident has raised serious concerns about the security arrangements at the Assembly. It is reported that the breach occurred at Gate No. 2.

Police have detained three people, including the driver of the car. The North District Police team later seized the vehicle at a checkpoint in the Roop Nagar area. The accused driver is said to be a resident of Puranpur in Pilibhit district.

Officials stated that the car forcefully entered the Assembly premises around 2 PM by breaking through Gate No. 2. A Delhi Secretariat official said, “The driver headed towards the office of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and placed a bouquet near the porch before leaving.”

CRPF personnel were deployed at the VIP gate at the time of the incident. However, no suspicious or explosive materials were found.

Authorities are treating the matter as a serious “security breach.” The incident comes shortly after the Assembly had received bomb threat emails during the recently concluded budget session, further intensifying concerns over safety.

As per reports, the car entered through Gate No. 2, which is designated as the VIP gate and is typically used by high-profile visitors.
