Business opportunity conference was held by the Department of tourism and civil aviation in Chandigarh on wednesday. The conference was chaired by R.K. Bali chairman of HPTDC (cabinet rank).
The purpose of the conference was to partner with private sector for development, management and operation of the properties being developed under the new ADB project so that world class facilities and experience can be given to the tourists in future.
From the government sector; the conference was attended by the Principal Secretary Tourism Devesh Kumar, Director Tourism and Civil Aviation Manasi Sahay Thakur along with other tourism officials and leading hotel groups like Taj, ITC, Mahindra, Oberoi, Sarovar, etc. and consultancy agencies like Deloitte, PWC, etc. from the private sector attended the event. The officials of ADB from manila and New Delhi too were among the attendees.
R.S. Bali stated Himachal as a peaceful and safe destination of the country. Detailed presentation was made of all the properties. The conference welcomed valuable suggestions and feedback from private sector developers and operators especially on the design, partnership structure and other aspects of the sub projects undr ADB. Keen interest in the properties offered for public private partnership was seen by the private sector.
Bali assured Himachal Pradesh’s keenness to develop sustainable tourism infrastructure in the state in association with private sector on PPP mode. Further, he affirmed that such conferences will be held in other places of the country with a motive to encourage private sector to invest in Himachal.
