AMRITSAR: Various development works are going on rapidly in the city under Smart City and a special meeting was held by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Amit Talwar with administrative and police officials to review these development works.
During the meeting, Mr. Talwar told the concerned officials that the traffic police must be informed first before starting development work at any place in the city so that the traffic is not disrupted. He said that under the Smart City scheme, cameras will be installed in all the squares by June 30.
He said that an automatic system is being installed to prevent the violation of traffic rules, which will keep a watch on the people and a challan will be sent by the traffic police to the homes of those who jump the red line.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials of the National Highway to make sure to install sign boards on the GT road and to take special care that the kilometers must be written on those boards so that the travelers coming from outside would not have any trouble. Don't face any kind of problem. He said that there should be special signboards on the roads where there is a U-turn so that any kind of accident can be avoided. He asked the officials of the Municipal Corporation to level the land of the old vegetable market and bring it into use and install the broken grills of BRTS immediately.
Mr. Talwar asked the traffic police officials to make sure to install jabra lines on the roads and also take guidance from the concerned department of Guru Nanak Dev University for this work. He said that all the squares from Dubarji to India Gate will be renovated.
