CM expresses gratitude to the President and Prime Minister for Bestowing Bharat Ratna to former Prime Ministers, Sh. PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh and Agriculture Scientist Dr. MS Swaminathan

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal expressed happiness over the Centre Government's decision to confer Bharat Ratna, highest civilian award on former Prime Ministers, Sh. PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh as well as agriculture scientist Dr. MS Swaminathan. The Chief Minister was speaking to the media in New Delhi today.
Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, in a tweet had informed the countrymen that former Prime Ministers, Sh. PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh as well as agriculture scientist Dr. MS Swaminathan will be honoured with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.
He stated that these three personalities have played significant roles in the nation's development. He expressed gratitude to President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, and the central government for honouring these eminent figures with the Bharat Ratna.
The Chief Minister said that former Prime Minister, Sh. P.V. Narasimha Rao was a Prime Minister who sent former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a leader of the opposition, to the United Nations, which was a commendable step.
Similarly, former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh consistently fought for the interests of farmers. Likewise, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan has contributed significantly to making agriculture beneficial and modern for farmers.
The Chief Minister said that their contributions have helped society progress and the nation move forward, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for this.

Responding to a question regarding the Opposition's proposal to bring a no-confidence motion in the upcoming budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha starting from February 20, the Chief Minister said that he has read the opposition's statement, but before this, they (the opposition) have also brought no-confidence motions, so he had challenged the opposition that whenever a session comes, they must bring a no-confidence motion so that they can hear about the work done by the present state government; otherwise, they just speak in any session without listening. He said that a session with a no-confidence motion is naturally a session where the opposition must be heard.

Sh. Manohar Lal expressed satisfaction, saying that if the opposition brings a no-confidence motion, they will be compelled to hear about the work we have done.

Taking a dig at the opposition, he said that it is possible that after hearing about our developmental works, some of them might change their stance; we are ready for that too.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Rewari AIIMS on February 16. He will also and will also address the gathering under inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various other projects. In this regard, information about these projects has been sent to the central government by the state government. He said that on this day, the Prime Minister will address the gathering under the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat- Viksit Haryana’. The Prime Minister's address will be planned in such a way that the residents can virtually listen.

Meanwhile, responding to a question about preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister said that the preparations are underway.
