A violent clash broke out late Monday night in Uklana area of Hisar district, Haryana, between supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and an independent candidate, leaving one person dead and four others injured.
According to police, the incident occurred after an election meeting held at the New Grain Market in Uklana. As party workers and supporters were returning from the meeting, an argument escalated into a confrontation between the two groups. The situation turned violent, and gunfire was reported during the clash.
Station House Officer Kuldeep confirmed that one person died in the incident, while others sustained injuries. The deceased has been identified as Shubham, a resident of Bhana village.
Three others—Vivek, also from Bhana, and Mukesh from Sadalpur—suffered bullet injuries, while Sugriv, also a resident of Sadalpur, sustained minor injuries. Shubham succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital.
Police have taken injured Pradeep into custody and admitted him to a private hospital for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the firing.
