From February 1, portal to open for plot allocation under Mukhya Mantri Shehri Awas Yojna in 11 Cities

Atal Canteens to Open in 15 More Mandis, CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal hoisted the flag on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day celebrations held in Karnal district today. On this occasion, he announced that under the Mukhya Mantri Shehri Awas Yojana, a portal will be opened from February 1, 2024, for the allocation of plots
measuring 30 square yards in 11 cities under this scheme. Applicants can participate by depositing a nominal
amount and avail loans from banks, along with assistance from the central and state governments, to build
their homes on these plots.
He said that the state government initiated this scheme to provide roofs over the heads of the poor and
needy. Through advertisements, applications were invited for plots or flats under this scheme. So far, 1 lakh
people have applied under this scheme. Manohar Lal also announced that statues of Dr. Mangal Sen and Kalpana Chawla will be installed in Dr. Mangal Sen Auditorium in Karnal and Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal, respectively. Manohar Lal paid tributes to martyrs at the War Memorial and inspected the parade of contingents.
The Chief Minister further announced that ‘Atal canteens’ are being operated in 25 Mandis of the state to
provide nutritious food at affordable rates to the poor and farmers. Starting from February 1, 2024, such
canteens will be opened in 15 more Mandis, and all 40 Mandis will now operate throughout the year instead of
just five months, he announced.
Manohar Lal announced that there was a demand from the people to receive electricity bills every
month instead of every two months. For this, as a pilot project in the first phase, monthly bills will be issued
from February 1, 2024, in four districts, namely Hisar, Mahendragarh, Karnal, and Panchkula. Initially, Nigam
workers will go for meter readings, and later consumers will send meter readings through a mobile application,
bringing improvements and benefits to the system, said the Chief Minister.

his gratitude to the scientists, farmers, labourers, and the people of the country who, after independence,
together made India a significant power in the world.
Meanwhile, on this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated and extended best wishes to four Haryana
citizens - artist Mahavir Guddu, social worker Gurvinder Singh, agricultural scientists Hari Om, and Shri Ram -
for being honoured with the Padma Shri. He appealed to the citizens, urging them to become partners in
Haryana's progress and to create an atmosphere of goodwill, development, harmony, and tolerance, making
their lives prosperous, happy, and secure.On this occasion, children presented a cultural program and the Chief Minister honored the family
members of the freedom fighters and people who have done remarkable work in various fields.
