The Delhi High Court has issued notices to the Central Government and social media platform X on a petition filed by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke challenging the blocking of the party’s X account.

However, the court refused to pass an interim order for immediate restoration of the account. The bench observed that the government’s stand must be heard before any such direction is issued.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav said the matter carries wider implications and far-reaching consequences, making it inappropriate to grant relief without hearing the Centre’s position.

The court directed the Central Government to file its response within four weeks and scheduled the next hearing for July 6.

Cockroach Janta Party recently gained attention on social media following Chief Justice Surya Kant’s controversial “cockroach” remark. As of Friday afternoon, CJP’s Instagram account reportedly had 22.5 million followers.
