Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders with effect from June 1, leading to higher operating costs for hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries, and other commercial establishments that rely heavily on LPG.
According to the revised rates, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been increased by ₹42, taking the new retail price to ₹3,113.50. In Kolkata, the cylinder price has gone up by ₹53.50, reaching ₹3,255.50. Similar price hikes have been reported in other metropolitan cities as well.
The increase is expected to put additional financial pressure on businesses that consume LPG in large quantities, particularly in the hospitality and food service sectors.
In contrast, there has been no change in the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder used by households, providing relief to regular consumers for now.
The latest revision comes at a time when many businesses are already grappling with rising operational expenses, and the higher LPG costs could further impact their overall expenditure and pricing strategies.
