Mai Bhago AFPI alumni Palvi Rajput commissioned as a Lieutenant in Indian Army

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, September 7-

Adding another accolade to the list of achievements of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Palvi Rajput, an alumni of the institute, has been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. She successfully completed her training at the Officer’s Training Academy in Chennai, on Saturday and participated in the passing out parade, which was overseen by Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM.

Lieutenant Palvi Rajput, who was commissioned into the Artillery Regiment, is the daughter of Sh. Ravinder Singh, a proud farmer hailing from Pathankot District.

Congratulating Lieutenant Palvi Rajput on her remarkable achievement, PEGSDT Minister Aman Arora expressed that her success will inspire more daughters of Punjab to consider careers in the defence services. Punjab Government is actively supporting the aspirations of Punjab's daughters who aim to serve as commissioned officers in the Defence Services. To facilitate this, the Punjab Government established an NDA Preparatory Wing for Girls at Mai Bhago AFPI in July 2023, in addition to the existing Graduate Wing.
