Gold and silver prices witnessed a rise on Tuesday, September 23, with both precious metals trading higher in the domestic market.

According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by ₹130 to reach ₹1.52 lakh. Silver also recorded a sharp rise, with its price increasing by ₹2,366 to ₹2.35 lakh per kilogram.

Precious metal prices have witnessed considerable fluctuations so far this year. Gold has gained around ₹19,000 in 2026 compared with its closing price on December 31, 2025, when 10 grams of gold was priced at around ₹1.33 lakh.

Silver, meanwhile, has risen from ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram at the end of 2025 to around ₹2.35 lakh currently.

Despite the current levels, both gold and silver had touched significantly higher levels earlier this year. On January 29, gold reached an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh per 10 grams, while silver hit a record high of ₹3.86 lakh per kilogram.

The prices of gold and silver continue to be influenced by domestic and international market movements, currency fluctuations and investor demand.
