The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has intensified its citywide deep cleaning campaign to make the city cleaner, dust-free and more aesthetically appealing. Advanced machinery and mechanical equipment are being deployed to thoroughly clean major roads, intersections and public spaces across all eight municipal zones.
The progress of the campaign was reviewed during a meeting chaired by Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya at the MCG office on Wednesday.
Officials informed that the campaign, which began on June 21, has achieved significant results in its first 10 days. A total of 88.72 kilometres of road stretches have been deep cleaned, leading to the removal of 167.82 metric tonnes of dust and soil, 13.86 metric tonnes of waste, and 93.13 metric tonnes of garbage.
As part of the initiative, 163 kilometres of roads have been cleaned using mechanical sweeping machines, while 87.93 kilometres have undergone road washing and water sprinkling to effectively control dust pollution. Additionally, 143 bus queue shelters have been thoroughly cleaned.
The ongoing drive focuses on key roads, intersections, dividers, bus stops and other high-traffic areas. Mechanical road sweeping machines, road washing equipment and sprinkling vehicles are being used to ensure efficient cleaning and dust suppression.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the deep cleaning campaign will continue on a regular basis and urged residents to support the civic body's efforts by helping keep the city clean.
The review meeting was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioners Yash Jaluka, Ravindra Yadav, Pooja Chanwaria and Kushal Kataria, Joint Commissioner Dr. Preetpal Singh, along with other senior officials.
