The e-tendering system has proven effective for rural development

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the plan to open a medical college in each district will soon be implemented including Palwal, Fatehabad, Charkhi Dadri, and Kaithal. Land has been earmarked for medical colleges in these districts, and the foundation stone has already been laid in Kaithal. The identification of land has also been done in the village of Ghasaula in Charkhi Dadri, and the upcoming process will be completed soon. CM was speaking during the winter session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
“Our government is formulating plans in the public interest, and proposals related to development projects are being taken from the public during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra”, said Manohar Lal. Speaking about the e-tendering system for rural development, the Chief Minister said that the e-tendering system has proven to be effective for rural development. Numerous work on e-tendering has started in villages are proving successful. The Gram Panchayats may get the work done through quotations up to Rs. 5 lakh, and works above this amount are being done through e-tendering.
The Chief Minister said that earlier, there used to be difficulty in determining the rates of construction material by the committee formed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner. Now, the government has authorized that a local committee in the district will determine rates in their districts for development purposes. He said that the present state government is committed to empowering Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies to accelerate development work.
