Haryana Ex-Situ Management of Paddy Straw Policy, 2023 Notified

Emphasizing the need to preserve the environment not only for today but also for future generations, Haryana Governor Bandaru Datatraya said that state government has notified the Haryana Ex-Situ Management of Paddy Straw Policy, 2023 to make the stubble a source of income for the farmers as well as to conserve the environment. This policy will focus on increasing private investment in stubble-based projects, ensuring utilization of stubble by incentivizing farmers. Under this policy, the target is to eliminate the problem of crop residue burning by the year 2027.
Dattatraya was addressing the House on the first day of the budget session of Haryana Assembly here today.
He said that the government has taken several initiatives to protect nature. To provide fair price for stubble to the farmers, government has decided to give a common determined price.
He said that the government is committed to preserving and promoting the heritage, culture and tourism of the state. An amount of Rs. 77.87 crore has been released for various projects out of the approved Rs. 97.34 crore by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, to develop Kurukshetra as a prime tourism destination. On February 16, 2024, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi inaugurated an ultra-modern ‘Anubhav Kendra’ in Jyotisar Tirth, spread over 10,000 square meters, built at a cost of Rs. 240 crore. It showcases the scenes of the Mahabharata through modern multimedia systems.
He said that work has started on the project costing Rs. 29.61 crore under the Heritage Circuit Rewari-Mahendergarh-Madhogarh-Narnaul. Work is underway on a project costing Rs 47 crore by the Union Tourism Ministry for the development of Nada Sahib Gurudwara and Shree Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula. A project to establish Swami Omanand Saraswati Museum in Jhajjar has been initiated. The construction work of museum and interpretation centre is underway on six acres of land in Rakhi Garhi, Hisar. In honor of the martyrs of the first freedom struggle, the construction work of Martyr Memorial in 22 acres area in Ambala Cantonment is going to be completed soon.
He said that in our country, from time to time, saints, sages, saints, prophets and gurus have shown the true path of life to the entire humanity. The teachings of such great personalities are the heritage of the entire society. It is our responsibility to preserve and uphold their legacy. The government has started ‘Sant-Mahapurush Samman evam Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana’ with the aim of making the general public, especially the youth, aware of the teachings of great gurus.
