Highest ever power demand of 3,563 Lakh unit met by PSPCL on june 26 : Harbhajan ETO

Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Thursday said that Punjab has met its all-time highest ever Power demand of 3563 LUs in a single day on June 26 against the previous highest-ever demand of 3427 LUs met on September 09, 2023.
Revealing this in a press communiqué issued here, the Power Minister said that the Punjab had also met its all-time highest ever peak demand of 15933 MW on June 19, against the peak demand of 15325 MW recorded on June 23, 2023.
Power Minister informed that the power demand has been persistently high during this summer season and Punjab has successfully met 28% more Power demand in June 2024 in comparison to the corresponding period of last year (7464 MUs till 26th June 2024 vis-à-vis 5853 MUs till 26th June,2023). He also added that PSPCL supplied 7231 MUs during May 2024 which is 37% more from 5270 MUs supplied during May-2023.
He further stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has met the highest ever demand of electricity without imposing any power cuts on Domestic, Commercial and Industrial consumers and maximum AP supply is being given to the agriculture consumers in the state.
