To combat cyber criminals effectively, the Haryana Police and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) of the Union Home Ministry are  going to collaboratively working on a unified platform. This initiative aims to expedite the resolution of cyber fraud complaints and facilitate the swift freezing of fraudulent amounts (within the initial one or two hours) so that defrauded amount can be restored to the complainant. In pursuit of this objective, the Haryana Police has assembled a dedicated team of cyber experts who have undergone advanced training to proactively combat cyber crimes.

Providing details on this initiative, Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor revealed that Haryana Police, in collaboration with the Union Home Ministry, has devised a comprehensive action plan to enhance the cybersecurity system. The team of cyber experts, meticulously trained by Haryana Police, will now collaborate closely with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) of the Union Home Ministry in Delhi. This partnership aims to reduce incidents of cybercrime within the state of Haryana.

Within this command center, nodal officers from various government and private banks nationwide, including SBI, PNB, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Axis Bank, Canara Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and others, are actively contributing. Their concerted efforts are instrumental in aiding the government's endeavors to prevent cyber fraud. To combat cybercrime effectively, all relevant agencies will unite their efforts and maintain a vigilant stance against cyber criminals. This collaborative approach ensures that live cases of cyber fraud can be handled with greater caution and efficacy than ever before.

He mentioned that there has been a concerning rise in cyber attacks in Haryana, particularly originating from West Bengal, Rajasthan, Mewat, and their adjacent areas. In response to this growing threat, our primary focus is to mitigate financial losses of the general public due to cyber fraud. To swiftly address instances of fraud and prevent immediate financial losses for individuals, 30 new workstations have been established in the Haryana 112 Building in Panchkula. This dedicated space is staffed by 70 cyber experts who promptly take action on cases related to cybercrime.

Kapoor appealed to the general public, urging them to maintain vigilance and avoid opening any suspicious links on their mobile phones. He emphasized the importance of enhancing online habits, including the creation of strong and unique passwords, as well as enabling two-factor authentication on accounts. It was advised to share personal data exclusively on trusted websites and exercise caution when using public WiFi, which can be targeted by hackers. Regularly scanning computers with antivirus and firewall software was recommended as a preventive measure.

Dgp cautioned against engaging in task-based activities on the Telegram Investment App and advised against making any investments through it. Furthermore, individuals were urged not to share personal information related to their bank accounts with anyone, as even a slight lapse in caution could make them susceptible to cyber fraud.
