Health Minister Dr. Balbir urges MEM officials

In an effort to realise the vision of ‘Sehatmand Punjab, Rangla Punjab’ set forth by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, cabinet Minister Dr Balbir Singh directed the Mass Education and Media (MEM) wing of the department to enhance the health awareness campaigns to ensure it effectively reaches the grassroots level.
Presiding over a meeting here on Wednesday, Dr. Balbir Singh emphasised that mass communication is the most effective way to control and prevent diseases. He stated that it is the utmost responsibility of the MEM wing to disseminate accurate and relevant information to the public while ensuring educational and communication activities are conducted across Punjab.
He said that the wing officials serve as the eyes and ears of the department, and the government expects them to effectively disseminate health-related information to the general public while ensuring a smooth flow of information within the department.
Referring to the “Har Shukarvaar, Dengue Te Vaar” campaign, Dr. Balbir Singh remarked, “We have observed a decline in dengue cases in the state compared to previous years, which is a direct result of our awareness drive against the disease.”
