Chandigarh-based businessman Rakesh Trehan, popularly known as “Raja D King”, has announced an iPhone distribution drive in Chandigarh and Mohali starting September 22. The first event is scheduled to take place in Sector 10, Chandigarh, at 12 noon.
According to Trehan, only women aged 18 years and above will be eligible to receive the smartphones. He said participation will be limited to women who have joined a pre-designated WhatsApp group announced by the organisers.
Trehan claimed that the recipients will be given iPhone 17 or higher models, each valued at more than ₹1 lakh. He further stated that an order for 1,000 iPhones has already been placed. However, only 10 iPhones are expected to be distributed on the first day of the campaign.
After Chandigarh, similar distribution events are planned in Zirakpur and Panchkula. Trehan has previously attracted attention for organising the distribution of ₹500 currency notes and free petrol in Chandigarh.
To register, women above 18 years of age have been asked to send a message containing their mobile number and the phrase “Jai Mata Di” to the specified WhatsApp number. Organisers said participants will be added to a group where members are required to post “Jai Mata Di” daily. Those who fail to do so may be removed from the group.
