Residents in several parts of Jalandhar will face a one-hour power outage on Friday as the 66 kV TV Centre Substation undergoes scheduled maintenance. According to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), electricity supply will remain suspended from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM to facilitate repair work aimed at improving the reliability of the power network.

The utility said the shutdown has been planned to address persistent tripping issues affecting areas connected to the substation, which have resulted in frequent power interruptions. The maintenance is expected to provide a long-term solution and ensure smoother electricity supply for consumers.

During the shutdown, power supply through the 11 kV Link Road Feeder, 11 kV Pruthi Feeder, 11 kV Tej Mohan Nagar Feeder, and 11 kV New Ashok Nagar Feeder will remain completely suspended.

The outage will affect Avtar Nagar (Gali Nos. 0–12), Lajpat Nagar Park, ITI College, Tube Well No. 35, Pruthi Hospital, Tej Mohan Nagar, Dayal Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Basti Sheikh Adda, Chitta School, and nearby localities.

PSPCL has advised residents and commercial establishments in the affected areas to complete essential electricity-related work before the scheduled shutdown to avoid inconvenience.
