A provincial minister of Pakistan has made a big demand. The minister has demanded the opening of a religious corridor like Kartarpur in the areas of Sindh province bordering India. He has proposed this so that people of Hindu and Jain religion can visit their historical religious places located in Pakistan. Sindh Tourism Minister Zulfikar Ali Shah made this proposal while addressing a program in Dubai to promote tourism in Sindh province.
Most of the Hindu population of Pakistan lives in Sindh province. Shah said that this corridor can be built in Umarkot and Nagarparkar. Umarkot has Shri Shiv Mandir, which is considered to be one of the oldest Hindu temples in Sindh. Some people believe that it was built more than 2,000 years ago. Nagarparkar also has many abandoned Jain temples. A large number of Hindus live in Nagarparkar.
