The announcement of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran has been welcomed by leaders across the world, with the formal signing of the deal scheduled to take place in Switzerland on Friday. Among those extending support is Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who described the development as a positive step toward ending conflict in West Asia.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said, “I welcome the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to end the conflict in West Asia. The prolonged tensions have caused significant economic disruption across the world and led to loss of lives and property in several countries.”
He further expressed hope that the implementation of the agreement would help restore peace and stability in the region while ensuring the free movement of people and trade.
“India hopes that the implementation of this understanding will contribute to regional peace and stability and guarantee freedom of navigation and commerce. We also expect that dialogue on the remaining issues will lead to a durable and final settlement,” the Prime Minister added.
The agreement is being seen as a significant diplomatic breakthrough, with expectations that it could ease regional tensions and improve global economic stability.
