With preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections gaining momentum, the Congress has intensified its political activities in the state. The party is now preparing to bring its national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to Punjab to boost its campaign and energise party workers ahead of the crucial elections.
According to party sources, Priyanka Gandhi is likely to address a major rally in either the Doaba or Malwa region. The date and venue are currently being finalised, and her Punjab visit schedule may be announced any time after the third week of November.
The proposed visit is believed to be part of a broader political strategy by Punjab Congress in-charge Sachin Pilot. He wants senior national leaders to visit the state regularly to maintain enthusiasm among party workers and strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.
Pilot reportedly requested Priyanka Gandhi to visit Punjab, following which she gave her approval. However, with several political programs scheduled in Uttar Pradesh during November, she is expected to make time for Punjab between her other engagements.
The Congress leadership is keen to ensure that its senior state leaders remain united and appear together on a common platform. Priyanka Gandhi's proposed rally is expected to provide fresh momentum to the party's preparations as it gears up for the 2027 Assembly elections.
