On the Shaheedi Jor Mela held to commemorate the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri, Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.
The Governor said that a parallel to the martyrdom of the younger sons of Dasampita Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Gujri Ji is not found anywhere in the world.
He said that Baba Jorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, who were just 9 and 7 years old, bravely resisted the brutal Mughal rule and stood firm on their faith with fearlessness and determination.
They set a unique example by their supreme sacrifice . He further said that due to the supreme sacrifice of the younger Sahibzades, their names will be etched in the hearts and minds of people forever and be continued to be mentioned in golden letters in the annals of history.
