Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed new state in-charges and co-incharges for Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat as part of an organisational reshuffle.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin announced the appointments, with Satish Poonia being named the new in-charge of Punjab. Tarun Chugh has been appointed Gujarat in-charge, while Vinod Tawde will oversee the party's affairs in Uttar Pradesh. Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel has been given the responsibility of co-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh.

The appointments have come into effect immediately and are aimed at strengthening the party's organisational structure in the three states.

The announcement came a day after Nabin released the list of the BJP's new national office-bearers. Several senior leaders have been given important responsibilities in the new team.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia is among 13 leaders appointed as national vice-presidents. Smriti Irani and Vinod Tawde have been appointed national general secretaries.

The latest appointments are part of the BJP's broader organisational changes as the party assigns key responsibilities to senior leaders across different states.
