State Bank of India (SBI) has started the online application process for the recruitment of Junior Associate (Clerk) posts. Candidates aspiring to work as clerks in India’s largest public sector bank can apply through the official SBI website. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 9,124 vacancies across various branches.
The last date to submit the online application is August 31, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Junior Associate (Clerk) posts, candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized institution in India.
Students who are currently in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they can produce proof of passing the degree examination at the time of joining.
The age of applicants will be calculated as on April 1, 2026. Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age.
Age Relaxation
Reserved category candidates will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per government norms:
OBC: 3 years
SC/ST: 5 years
Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
Selection Process
The selection for SBI Junior Associate posts will be conducted in three stages:
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Local Language Proficiency Test
Preliminary Exam Pattern
The preliminary examination will consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks from the following sections:
English Language
Numerical Ability
Reasoning Ability
The exam duration will be one hour. A negative marking of one-fourth mark will be applied for every incorrect answer.
Candidates qualifying in the preliminary exam will be called for the Main Examination, which will be conducted for 200 marks. Those shortlisted in the mains will then appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test.
Salary Structure
Candidates selected for the Clerk posts will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹24,050 to ₹64,480, along with other allowances and benefits applicable to SBI employees.
