AAP Leader: Blocking Borders Hurts Punjab More Than the Center, Let’s Rethink Our Approach

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, March 20-

In a statement addressing recent developments, AAP Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh emphasized the Punjab Government's dedication to the welfare of farmers while ensuring that the larger public interest is safeguarded. He clarified that the removal of blockades from Punjab’s highways was carried out with utmost humility and respect for the farmers, without any confrontation.

"Our government respects the sacrifices of our farmers and has always stood with them. The highways were cleared only to alleviate the immense hardships faced by the common people, including delays in ambulances, stranded students and NRIs, and disrupted trade routes critical to Punjab’s economy," Minister Sondh stated.

Reflecting on the historic farmers' movement against the three controversial farm laws, Sondh highlighted AAP's unwavering support during the agitation. "While other parties like Akali Dal and Congress remained absent or even sided with the central government, AAP stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the farmers, providing every possible assistance, from basic facilities to unwavering political support," he said.
