The Vision of Developed India Lies in Entrepreneurship and Skill Development - Prof.Sachdeva

Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, stated that the vision for a developed India by 2047 is deeply rooted in entrepreneurship and skill development. To provide students with in-house opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, Kurukshetra University has developed an ecosystem that includes the establishment of two incubation centres to promote startups.

Prof. Sachdeva gave this statement today during a lecture program organized by the Kurukshetra University Technology Incubation Centre on the occasion of World Entrepreneurs' Day.

He highlighted that India, with 37 crore youths, is the youngest country in the world. The objective of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is to transform knowledge transfer into knowledge creation. Kurukshetra University is the first university in the country to implement NEP-2020 with all its provisions in campus UG programs and affiliated colleges, and it has also been implemented in PG programs from the current session.

Prof. Sachdeva also mentioned that the university has developed an ecosystem for promoting research and registering patents. So far, 60 patents have been registered, some of which have been published and awarded. He encouraged the youth to save time and learn a skill to become self-reliant and contribute to nation-building.
