Crematoriums and graveyards in 658 villages will be renovated with a cost of Rs 50CR

MoU signed between Powergrid and Development and Panchayats Department in the presence of CM Saini

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, November 21-

Powergrid will renovate crematoriums and graveyards in 658 villages across four districts of Haryana—Karnal, Panipat, Rewari, and Kurukshetra under the Shivdham Yojana. Powergrid will make an investment of approximately Rs 50 crore through its CSR scheme for this purpose.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Powergrid and the Development and Panchayats Department in the presence of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini in Gurugram today.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that under the CSR scheme, corporate companies are making significant contributions to rural development, which is a commendable step towards social upliftment. Industries and Commerce,  Environment, Forests and Wildlife departments Minister Rao Narbir Singh, and Cooperative and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma were also present during the event       

The MoU was signed by Dr. J.K. Abhir, Director General of the Development and Panchayats Department, and Sanjay Kumar Verma, General Manager of Powergrid.
