Today, on June 6, the 40th anniversary of Operation Blue Star is being celebrated. Sangat has been thronging Sri Darbar Sahib and Sri Akal Takht Sahib since morning. Today, many places are being organized to commemorate the martyrdom days that began on June 1. Sangat is paying obeisance to the Sikhs who were martyred in this operation by bowing their heads in the Gurughars. On the other hand, the police has also made special arrangements for this day.
On the other hand, the newly elected MP of Faridkot, Sarabjit Singh Khalsa has also reached Sri Harmandir Sahib to pay obeisance. According to the information, supporters of Sarabjit Khalsa, Simranjit Mann, Dal Khalsa have raised slogans of Khalistan. On the other hand, the extremist organization Dal Khalsa has also called for a bandh in Amritsar on this day. Hoardings and banners have also been put up at various places in the city by Dal Khalsa spokesperson Paramjit Singh regarding the bandh.
Punjab Police has made tight security arrangements. Nearly two thousand policemen have been deployed. Hundreds of policemen in plain clothes have also been deployed.
