In a tragic road accident, six members of a family from Fatehabad in Haryana lost their lives when their car collided head-on with a truck in Rajasthan’s Sri Dungargarh area.
The family was returning from a pilgrimage to Mukam Dham when the fatal accident occurred. Around 2:30 pm on Monday, their Swift Dzire car reached near Hemasar village under Sri Dungargarh police station limits in Sri Ganganagar district, where it collided with an oncoming truck.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled. Long skid marks were also seen on the road, indicating the intensity of the crash. Police reached the spot and, with the help of locals, pulled out the victims from the wreckage.
The deceased have been identified as members of the family of Omprakash, a retired senior accountant from Matana village in Fatehabad. He had retired from the DDPO office just 15 days ago.
All six people, including Omprakash, his wife, daughter, only grandson, and two granddaughters, died on the spot. One granddaughter has been seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
