US President Donald Trump has issued a final deadline to Iran to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, warning of severe military consequences if Tehran fails to comply.
The deadline, set for Tuesday 8:00 PM (US time), corresponds to early Wednesday morning (5:30 AM IST). Speaking on Monday night, Trump stated that Iran must make an immediate decision, adding that accepting US conditions could quickly bring an end to tensions.
Trump warned that failure to act would result in targeted strikes on Iran’s critical infrastructure. “We have a plan. Every bridge in Iran could be destroyed by midnight Tuesday. Every power plant will be out of business unusable and this can happen in just four hours,” he told the media.

In response, the Iranian government has called on its citizens, particularly youth, artists, and athletes, to form human chains near power plants across the country on April 7 as a show of unity and resistance.
The situation remains tense as the deadline approaches, raising fears of possible escalation in the region.
