Babli arrived as the chief guest at the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ program organised in the village Parta of Tohana block

Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Devender Singh Babli said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of the state Sh. Manohar Lal, the state government has taken important steps from time to time for women's empowerment and self-reliance. Under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, skill training will be provided to women across the country to make self-help groups self-sufficient so that they can earn more than one lakh rupees per year.
Development and Panchayat Minister today participated as the Chief Guest in the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ programme organised in village Parta of Tohana block of Fatehabad district.
The live broadcast of the programme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from West Bengal and Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal from Karnal was shown on a big screen. In the program, Drone Didi Seema Rani flew a drone and gave detailed information on how it can be used. Sh. Devender Singh Babli distributed cheques worth Rs. 4 crore 64 lakh of CCL and Rs. 37 lakh of CCF to the women of self-help groups.
Babli said that the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative programme was recently launched by the Government of India under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Under this program, such women of self-help groups are to be identified who have increased the annual income of their family to one lakh rupees or more by starting various businesses after joining self-help groups. These women are to be given training by providing them with information about various types of employment so that they can improve their livelihood.
The Panchayat Minister said that under the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission Fatehabad, a total of 3917 women self-help groups have been formed in all the blocks of the district, in which 39281 women of rural poor families of the district have been linked. By building and strengthening self-help groups, 284 women village organisations have been formed and a total of 14 women cluster organisations have been formed so far in the district through these village organizations, through which women of rural poor families have been economically, socially, and politically empowered. Various types of financial assistance are provided to self-help groups as simple loans in the form of Revolving Fund and Community Investment Funds. Under the mission, Rs. 422.95 lakh has been given as revolving fund to 3382 self-help groups of Fatehabad district and Rs. 1271 lakh has been given to 276 village organisations.
The Development and Panchayat Minister said that a total of 724 self-help groups have been formed in Tohana block so far and 7262 poor families have been linked to the groups. A target has been set to make 11 thousand ‘Lakhpati Didis’ from self-help groups in Fatehabad district. These women will be selected, trained, and linked to livelihood means. The process has been started and about 8 thousand ‘Lakhpati Didis’ have been selected in Fatehabad district. Two Drone Didis have been trained and given drones in the district.
Babli said that canteens are being run by self-help groups after getting training from IHM and other such institutions. The process of providing shops at bus stands to sell the products made by the group members has been started. Similarly, a common market is being arranged at the headquarters, and shops for the common market have been prepared in Fatehabad. He said that women should raise their standard of living by adopting the schemes being run as self-employment. He said that under the Haryana Livelihood Rural Mission, women are being empowered through self-help groups. To empower women, the state government has given 50 percent reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions. Women have had a significant participation in the elections of Panchayati Raj institutions.
