The Women Helpline No. 181 scheme is being run by the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development of Punjab to provide immediate and emergency assistance to the needy women of the state. Women helpline number 181 is proving to be a boon for the women of the state. This was expressed by the Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur.
She said that Women Helpline No. 181 Yojana is an excellent initiative by the govt to provide immediate and emergency assistance to the needy women of the state which aims to provide 24 hours immediate and emergency assistance to women affected by violence. She said that any needy woman who is being subjected to any kind of violence or harassment can call the women's helpline number 181 and ask for help.
The Minister further informed that around 150 calls are made to the women's helpline every day by needy women. she said that every month about 4000 to 5000 needy women are being provided with the necessary assistance through the women's helpline number 181.
