Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raj kumar Chabbewal reportedly received a suspicious phone call on Thursday morning in which the caller falsely claimed to be Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The MP has lodged a police complaint following the incident, prompting an official investigation.

According to Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, the call came around 8:45 am from an unknown number. The caller initially said that Amit Shah wanted to speak to him. Shortly after, another person on the same call introduced himself as Amit Shah, extended birthday wishes, and asked about his current location.

Chabbewal informed the caller that he was in Hoshiarpur. The impersonator then allegedly told him to meet in Delhi whenever he visits the national capital.

The MP said he grew suspicious during the conversation, noting that the voice did not match that of the Home Minister and the call did not originate from any official government number. He immediately contacted senior police officials in Hoshiarpur and shared the phone number and call details for verification.

Police sources confirmed that a case has been initiated and a technical investigation is underway to trace the caller and identify the source of the suspicious call. Further action will be taken once the investigation is completed.
