After its strong electoral performance in West Bengal and Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now shifted its focus towards the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for 2027.
According to party sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Punjab every month as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the party’s base in the state. The BJP is also preparing to launch a large-scale public awareness campaign against drugs, which is expected to become a key political issue in Punjab.
Earlier, the BJP had formally kicked off its 2027 election campaign with a rally in Moga, where Amit Shah stated that the party aims to bring a “change” in Punjab politics.
Speaking on the party’s strategy, Sunil Singla, Punjab BJP media Co-Incharge, said that under the leadership of the high command, the party will strengthen its presence in Punjab and “create a new history” in the coming elections.
Meanwhile, it is also being highlighted that Amit Shah’s recent visit to West Bengal was not limited to routine campaigning. He reportedly spent nearly 15 days in the state, overseeing organizational planning similar to a “war room” strategy, comparable to his earlier election management approach used in Bihar. According to party insiders, late-night meetings were held across different zones, sometimes continuing till 1–2 AM, focusing on strengthening the party organization at the grassroots level.
