Panic spread across the national capital on Monday after several prominent schools in Delhi reportedly received bomb threat emails, prompting an immediate response from police and security agencies.
According to officials, Delhi Police teams, along with personnel from the fire department and bomb disposal squads, rushed to the affected schools and launched extensive search operations. Authorities said all standard security protocols were being followed and every part of the school premises was being thoroughly checked.
So far, no suspicious object has been found in any of the schools searched, police said.
The threatening emails were reportedly sent to multiple educational institutions, leading to heightened security arrangements and concerns over student safety. School authorities were alerted immediately after receiving the messages, and emergency procedures were activated as a precautionary measure.
Delhi Police said the matter was being treated with utmost seriousness. Technical experts are examining the emails to trace their origin and identify those responsible for sending the threats.
This is not the first such incident in Delhi and the NCR region. In recent months, several schools have received similar bomb threat emails, many of which later turned out to be hoaxes. However, officials said every threat is being investigated thoroughly to ensure the safety of students, staff and school premises.
Security agencies have appealed to the public not to panic and to rely only on official information as the investigation continues.
