Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday issued a fresh transfer order for Indian Police Service (IPS), Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS), and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS) officers, bringing significant changes to the Chandigarh Police and Chandigarh Administration.

Among the key IPS transfers, Manjit, who was serving at the Chandigarh Police Headquarters and his wife Geetanjali Khandelwal, who headed the Cyber Cell and Operations Cell, have been transferred to Delhi. SP City K.M. Priyanka has been posted to Jammu & Kashmir.

To fill the vacancies, three IPS officers have been assigned to Chandigarh. These include 2018-batch IPS officer Vineet Kumar from Delhi and 2014-batch IPS officer Rajesh Kumar Sharma from Jammu & Kashmir. A third IPS officer has also been posted to Chandigarh under the latest transfer orders.

The MHA also announced transfers in the DANICS and DANIPS cadres. DANICS officer Amit Kumar, a 2010-batch officer serving in the Chandigarh Administration, has been transferred to Delhi after holding key administrative responsibilities in the Union Territory.

In the Chandigarh Police, DANIPS officers DSP Vikas Sheokand and DSP A. Venkatesh have also been transferred to Delhi. Sheokand was serving as DSP of the Cyber Cell while additionally handling the Operations Cell, whereas Venkatesh was posted in the Vigilance Department.

Meanwhile, Chandigarh has received new officers under the reshuffle. DANICS officer Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra of the 2021 batch has been transferred from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Chandigarh. Additionally, DANIPS officers Satendra Mohan Meena and Patil Swagat Rajkumar have been transferred from Delhi and will now take up their new assignments in the Chandigarh Police.

The transfer orders have come into effect immediately. Following the reshuffle, attention will now shift to the allocation of key portfolios and departmental responsibilities for the newly posted officers in the Chandigarh Administration and Chandigarh Police.
