Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, who also heads the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to address employees’ issues, held a series of meetings with representatives of various employee unions on Wednesday to discuss their service-related concerns.
During the meetings, union leaders submitted memorandums highlighting key demands, including regularisation of services, increase in salaries and allowances, job security and merger of departments.
The discussions were held in a cordial and positive atmosphere. Cheema listened carefully to the issues raised by the employee representatives and assured them that the state government would consider their genuine demands.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the government is committed to the welfare of employees, and all your genuine demands will be addressed at the earliest,” Cheema said.
Representatives of the All Diploma Degree Apprenticeship Association, Water Supply and Sanitation Social Employees Union, All Punjab DST (Dual System of Training)/CTS (Craftsman Training Scheme) Contract Instructor Union (ITI), MGNREGA Employees Union Punjab, and Punjab AIDS Control Employees Welfare Association attended the meetings.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee is expected to examine the demands raised by the unions and work towards resolving their service-related issues.
