A Class 10 student was found dead inside his school premises in Haryana's Yamunanagar, a day after he went missing following school hours. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, while preliminary findings point to possible emotional distress linked to ongoing family issues.

According to officials, the student, identified as Kamaldeep, did not return home after school on Wednesday. His family searched for him but failed to locate him and later informed the local police. A joint search operation involving the police, family members, and school authorities was initiated.

When the search yielded no results in the surrounding areas, the police and the family returned to the school on Thursday. Kamaldeep's bicycle and school bag were found outside the old school building. Upon entering the building, they discovered his body hanging from a hook attached to the ceiling, approximately 12 feet above the ground.

Police brought the body down and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Further forensic and legal procedures are underway.

School Principal Usha Rani said all students had left after the school day ended and it remains unclear how Kamaldeep returned to the campus later. She added that the matter is under police investigation.

Preliminary police inquiries revealed that Kamaldeep was the only child of his parents, who have reportedly been involved in a domestic dispute for the past six years and are currently undergoing divorce proceedings. According to initial statements, the family believes the prolonged conflict had left the teenager emotionally distressed.

Police have not confirmed the exact cause of death and said the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report and other evidence before drawing final conclusions.
