Heavy rainfall has severely affected Maharashtra's Nashik and Trimbakeshwar regions, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for the next 24 hours, warning of up to 300 mm of rainfall. Authorities have also cautioned about the possibility of a cloudburst in Nashik.

As a precautionary measure, all schools and colleges in Nashik have been closed for the day. The famous Trimbakeshwar Temple and the Saptashrungi Temple, one of Maharashtra's revered Shakti Peeths, have also been shut for devotees due to adverse weather conditions.

In Ratnagiri district, a rain-triggered landslide struck Shelarwadi village, causing part of a house to collapse. Rescue teams safely pulled a woman from the debris, while operations are continuing amid fears that two people remain trapped under the rubble.

Meanwhile, heavy rainfall also triggered flash floods in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Floodwaters, rocks, and debris swept into residential areas, leaving several vehicles stranded and causing widespread disruption.

In Rajasthan, districts including Jodhpur, Pali, Jalore, and Barmer recorded nearly three inches of rainfall on Monday. Waterlogging was reported on highways in Jodhpur, affecting traffic and normal movement as authorities monitored the situation.
