A blast occurred at a CNG filling station near Tikri Kalan Metro Station in the Mundka area of outer Delhi on Wednesday evening. Mundka police have registered an FIR against unknown persons in connection with the incident.
Police officials said no one would be named in the FIR until the technical reports are received. The Delhi Police Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) technical teams inspected the site on Wednesday night.
Police are currently awaiting detailed reports from both teams. Preliminary information suggests that there was no apparent fault in the CNG filling station pump. Investigators are also examining whether any negligence occurred at the site.
Delhi Police is likely to write to the Delhi government requesting the formation of a specialised technical team. The team would conduct a detailed inspection of the facility and determine at what level, if any, negligence took place.
The actual cause of the blast has not yet been established. Further legal action will be decided after the technical reports are submitted.
Condition of Three Injured Stable
According to police officials, the condition of the three other people injured in the incident remains stable. They are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
Police have also rejected allegations that the injured were not taken to hospital on time, saying the claims are not correct.
