Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), was granted conditional bail on Saturday and released after signing a bond to maintain peace. The Delhi Police had arrested him late Friday night after detaining him earlier in the day while he was on his way to attend the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally at Connaught Place.

This was the second time in eight days that action had been taken against Dipke. On October 10, he was detained by the Delhi Police aboard an aircraft at Delhi airport. However, he was released the following day. His latest detention and subsequent arrest have once again drawn attention to the party’s activities and the police action surrounding its protests.

Released After Signing Peace Bond

According to the Delhi Police, the Special Executive Magistrate’s court granted Dipke bail after he signed a peace bond, an undertaking to maintain public order. Earlier, CJP founder and leader Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were detained ahead of the October 10 protest, had also signed similar bonds before being released.

Ratna Singh, head of legal affairs for the Cockroach Janata Party, confirmed Dipke’s release. In a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, she wrote, “Abhijeet Dipke has been released.”

Earlier on Saturday, Singh had raised objections over the delay in the court proceedings. Dipke was detained on Friday while heading to a protest rally at Connaught Place and was subsequently arrested by the Delhi Police.

Security Tightened in Delhi, Student Leader Also Detained

Amid preparations for the rally and related protests, the Delhi Police tightened security in several key areas of the national capital.

Neha Bora, president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), was also detained near Mandi House as police personnel maintained heightened security. She was released shortly after being taken into custody.

The developments unfolded as police monitored the situation around the proposed rally and took measures to maintain law and order.

Dipke’s release followed the signing of the peace bond, according to the police. The available information indicates that the legal process surrounding his detention and arrest has resulted in his release on conditional bail.
