DGP Reviews Cashless Treatment Facility for Road Accident Victims in Haryana

Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur today held a meeting with the concerned police officers through video conferencing to review the pilot project launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for cashless free treatment of persons injured in road accidents in Haryana and gave them necessary directions. Along with this, Kapur also directed the officers to ensure compliance with Section 167(8) of the Central Motor Vehicles (11th Amendment) Rules, 2020. The meeting also discussed the compensation to be given to the victims in hit-and-run cases.

This meeting was held at the Police Headquarters in Panchkula in which ADGP T&H Hardeep Doon was present while other senior traffic officers of the state participated through video conferencing. Kapur said that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has started a scheme for cashless free treatment of persons injured in road accidents. Sh. Kapur reviewed the work done under this scheme in the state and said that this scheme is being run by the Government of India on a pilot basis under which treatment up to Rs. 1.5 lakh per person for a maximum period of 7 days from the date of the road accident is provided free of cost.
