Haryana CS Dr. Vivek Joshi chaired the 4th SHPSC Meeting for successful implementation of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) here today.
During the meeting, it was informed that under the State Water Action Plan (SWAP-I) of AMRUT 2.0, 57 projects costing Rs 1727.36 crore have been approved, which includes 48 projects of water supply and 9 projects of sewerage spanning over 50 towns of the state. Out of these, in 53 projects, work has already been commenced & the remaining are under tendering process.
The Chief Secretary directed officials of the Public Health Engineering Department to involve local communities and take their consultation before implementing a project. He also stressed on developing a mechanism for taking feedback of the projects already implemented. For this, the concerned Deputy Commissioners and municipal bodies can also be involved.
The meeting was informed that a fund of Rs 1.17 lakh per town was also being utilised for IEC and awareness campaigns in schools and training of youth on water conservation and management in 24 towns of Haryana in the first phase.
