A 24-year-old woman from Faridkot, Anmoldeep Kaur, died of a heart attack in Canada, leaving her family and relatives in deep shock. As news of her death reached her family, grief spread through the village, with relatives, villagers and acquaintances visiting the family home to offer condolences.
According to information, Anmoldeep was the daughter of Dr Jarnail Singh, president of the Sukhmani Netra Dani Club, a social organisation in village Dod. Around four years ago, he had sent his daughter to Winnipeg, Canada, on a study visa.
Anmoldeep had completed her studies and had also applied for permanent residency (PR) in Canada. However, her health suddenly deteriorated on Tuesday, and she died after suffering a heart attack.
The news of her death has sparked concern among villagers over the increasing number of young people from Punjab moving abroad in search of better education and employment opportunities.
Medical Practitioners Association president Jaswinder Singh, Sohan Lal Sharma, former Jaito Municipal Council president Surjit Singh Baba and several other villagers expressed grief over Anmoldeep’s death.
