Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh -
In a significant milestone for maternal healthcare services in Haryana, the first Lower Segment Cesarean Section (LSCS) was successfully conducted today at the newly operational First Referral Unit (FRU) at Community Health Centre (CHC), Mullana in Ambala district.
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said, “This marks the beginning of a new chapter in providing quality maternal care at the grassroots level. Timely access to life-saving services will help reduce maternal and infant mortality in the region,” she said.
She further emphasized that the state government remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery systems in rural areas. “The operationalization of FRUs like the one in Mullana aligns with our broader mission to improve access to emergency obstetric care, especially for high-risk pregnancies,” she added.
The successful LSCS procedure was carried out by a dedicated team of doctors and nursing staff, reflecting the enhanced capabilities now available at the upgraded facility.
