Five associates of Canada-based Khalistan supporter Lakhbir Landa arrested in Punjab

Jalandhar Police in Punjab has arrested five henchmen of Canada-based pro-Khalistan Lakhbir Singh Landa on charges of extortion, murder and smuggling of arms and drugs across the border. According to information, five foreign pistols were recovered from them during a 15-day operation launched to nab the accused.

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav has said that in a major breakthrough, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has arrested five henchmen of Canada-based Lakhbir Landa gang in a 15-day operation.

He said that they were involved in several heinous crimes like smuggling of arms and drugs across the border, murder, extortion, ransom and many other criminal activities in many districts of Punjab. 5 foreign pistols have been recovered from them. The DGP said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police is fully committed to eliminate organized crime in the state. In December last year, the Home Ministry had declared Lakhbir Landa a terrorist. According to the information, 33-year-old Lakhbir Landa is associated with the Khalistani terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and was involved in planning a rocket attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in 2021. Lakhbir Landa's name also surfaced in connection with the RPG attack on the Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran in December 2022. The terrorist is a resident of Punjab, but has been living in Canada for the last few years. He has been involved in plotting against India.
