Jasprit Bumrah Gears Up Ahead of IPL 2026 with Intensive Training at BCCI Centre

Undergoing workload management in Bengaluru, likely to join Mumbai Indians for opening clash

Punjab Newsline,Sports:

Ahead of IPL 2026, India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has taken a crucial step toward maintaining peak fitness by enrolling in a structured workload management programme at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

The program is aimed at ensuring Bumrah remains in top physical condition for a packed international calendar, especially with India’s white-ball tour of England scheduled for July. The tour will include both T20 Internationals and One-Day Internationals, making his fitness a top priority for the team management.

Sources indicate that Bumrah has been actively involved in strength and conditioning drills while also continuing his bowling practice at the facility. His steady progress is seen as a positive sign ahead of the IPL season.

This development comes as a major boost for Mumbai Indians, who are eagerly awaiting the return of their pace spearhead. Bumrah is expected to rejoin the squad soon and could be available for their opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29.

Bumrah was recently instrumental in India’s triumph at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, where he delivered a match-winning performance in the final, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.

With an impressive IPL record of 186 wickets in 148 matches, Bumrah is closing in on the all-time franchise record held by Lasith Malinga. As Mumbai Indians aim for another title, his return could prove to be a decisive factor in their campaign.
