Chandigarh, July 28: The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is continuously striving to provide basic facilities and a clean, pollution-free environment to the people of the state. Minister for Local Governments Balkar Singh expressed this commitment, stating that the state government makes every decision with the public's interest as the top priority.
A review meeting was held at Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35 Chandigarh, where the Minister of Local Government took stock of various development works and repair projects of the Municipal Corporations. He instructed the departmental officials to ensure that the ongoing development works in all districts of the state are completed within the designated time frame and meet the required quality standards.
Minister S. Balkar Singh gave explicit instructions to the officials of the Municipal Corporations, emphasizing that there should not be any illegal construction in their respective areas. He clarified that if any person engages in illegal construction, immediate action should be taken against them.
The Minister stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is dedicated to providing a corruption-free administration to the people of the state. Anyone caught involved in corruption will not be spared.
Furthermore, the Cabinet Minister highlighted that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's vision is to provide basic facilities and a pollution-free environment, thereby improving the standard of living for the people of the state.
In line with the aim of providing more facilities to the people, the Punjab Government has already delegated the powers for the approval of Change of Land Use and Layout of colonies to Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Additional Deputy Commissioners at District Level.
After evaluating the ongoing development works in the state, he emphasized that officials should personally ensure the quality of the projects to guarantee efficiency and quality in government initiatives.
On this occasion, Local Government Secretary Mr. Ajoy Sharma, PMIDC CEO Mrs. Isha Kalia, Local Government Director Mr. Uma Shankar Gupta, Commissioners of various Municipal Corporations, and other officers were present in the meeting.
