In Chandigarh a man allegedly attacked his wife with a knife, leaving her critically injured with two deep wounds to her chest. The victim, identified as Suman Kumari, was rushed to Government Multi-Speciality Hospital Sector 16, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident took place around 2 PM in Sector-38 West’s Dadu majra Colony. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The accused husband, identified as Manoj, has been arrested and is being questioned.
According to the victim’s brother, Kuldeep Singh, Manoj is unemployed and frequently demanded money from Suman. He alleged that his brother-in-law would often resort to violence when she refused. “My sister works hard all day, and when she returns home, he tries to snatch her earnings. When she resists, he assaults her. Today, he attacked her with a knife, causing deep injuries,” Kuldeep said.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events and additional charges may be added based on the victim’s medical condition.
